Hepatitis B and C can be transmitted through unprotected sex. It is highly infectious and occurs during blood to blood contact causing a viral infection to the liver. Symptoms of Hepatitis B and C include tiredness, high temperatures, nausea, passing of dark urine and the skin or whites of the eyes appearing yellow. The Hepatitis Profile Test can detect both Hepatitis B & Hepatitis C using the same blood sample.
NB. It is important to note that our tests are not a substitute for seeing a doctor, particularly if you have symptoms. You should not make a diagnosis or start any treatment without a consultation with a doctor or a suitably trained health professional

|When shall I take the test?||
Please be advised that after coming into contact with these infections, it can take some time for viral levels to rise to a detectable amount. Therefore we do advise to allow for an incubation period of 28 days before testing. The test should be performed after the incubation period or, if a negative result is received before the incubation period, we recommend performing a confirmatory test after the advised incubation period.
